i was just thinking about how during the drunk tank portion of the stag night john had to deliberately make a decision to let sherlock have the bench to sleep like the way john shows his love for sherlock is by caring for him and protecting him and i know that whole scene was supposed to be funny but if you think about how john sat on the floor and tried to keep watch while sherlock slept it just becomes so sad too
