SHE HAS A GUN TRAINED ON SHERLOCK AND JOHN HAS A GUN TRAINED ON HER AND AT THE LAST SECOND WE HEAR 2 SHOTS AND MARY IS DEAD AND IT TURNS OUT THAT SHE SWITCHED TARGETS TO JOHN AND THAT’S HOW WE GET 3 GARRIDEBS
Oh god and can you imagine Sherlock rushing to his side, skidding into his knees and taking John’s head into his lap and frantically going “John are you alright? Are you alright?” and John’s saying the same to him, “Sherlock, she didn’t get you, did she? You’re alright aren’t you?”
And they’re talking over each other, desperate to make sure the other is alright, and they can’t stop touching each other and Sherlock calls 999 and screams at them to hurry and when the paramedics come, Sherlock’s just holding John in his arms and won’t be separated from him and the paramedics aren’t going to let him ride with John to the hospital but John won’t let go of his hand and they’re just clinging to each other and Sherlock basically forces his way into the ambulance and when they’re finally settled and John’s getting medical attention, Sherlock’s like “I’m sorry. About Mary.”
And John just shakes his head and says, “I wasn’t going to let her hurt you again.”
And they thread their fingers together on the gurney and they just know. And Sherlock never leaves John’s side in the hospital, sleeping in the chair and hunched over the side of the bed, and when they go home, it’s to Baker Street, and Sherlock starts to take John up to his room to rest and John stops him and says, “I don’t think we’ll be needing that second bedroom anymore, do you?”
End credits.
